The Waterpark @ The Villages
A short jaunt from Frankston proper is The WaterPark @ The Villages, a family water playground and Texas vacation destination on nearly 3,000 acres of piney woods on Lake Palestine. With 25,000 square feet of fun for the entire family, the water park is also one of the largest in Texas. The 19,000-square-foot, glass-enclosed recreational area is climate controlled and features a retractable roof for outdoor summer excitement for friends and the entire family.
CM Streek Dog Agility Training Center
Frankston is host to an impressive and unique venue featuring some of the best athletes on four legs – the CM Streek Dog Agility Training Center. Trainer Terry Dyck provides one-on-one private lessons in agility as well as group training sessions. The expansive facility, covered arena and well-appointed course is also host to events each May and September where dogs and owners show off the fruit of their hard work and dedication. These Agility Events are excellent spectator sports as well, and the public is welcome to attend. The center is a long-time supporter to the area’s Humane Society (BARC in neighboring Palestine), holding raffles at each event to benefit the organization’s worthy cause.
River Run ATV Park
Just southeast of Frankston you’ll find River Run ATV Park on the beautiful and “wild” Neches River. Bring your ATV, 4×4 truck, horse or other off-road vehicle and join in fun activities for the entire family.
River Run hosts 10 annual events, and a number of amenities, including “extreme” mud pits, free wash bays for removing all traces of the day’s play, Shower Houses, camping, RV sites, and cabins.
5H Shooting Sports
5H is the finest outdoor public shooting facility in East Texas. No membership or reservation required – just drop in for some shooting fun. Located only 3.2 miles north west of Frankston just off of Highway 175. Two sporting clay courses, skeet, trap, five stand as well as a rifle/pistol range. Host your private event, benefit shoot, birthday party, corporate shoot, or take private shooting lessons.
